The Key To Your Breakthroughs:
Our experience consistently demonstrates that the most powerful change agent is your ability to see a different perspective. It could reveal that next great idea, innovation, elusive solution or path to fulfillment. Or it could significantly alter your choice of the next actions to take, objectives to pursue or even the possibilities to be realized. Whatever it is, once you find it you’ll look back and see it was always there, yet hidden behind a blind spot. The challenge is that the blind spot is also your view of reality.
The opportunity is to break that open and see the bigger picture. When your sense of reality breaks apart, it could become a breakdown or a breakthrough. With MasterCoaches our promise is “new perspectives for breakthrough results!”
While the concept is simple, the execution is complex. We’ve all experienced those “a-has” where suddenly we see what had been so elusive. The challenge is being able to do that on purpose. What gets in the way is that we don’t think we’re seeing a perspective, we think we’re seeing the world as it is. So asking you to change your perspective is like asking you to let go of reality.
Kathryn Schulz, author of Being Wrong: Adventures in the Margin of Error uses an example from the popular cartoon of Wile E. Coyote chasing the Roadrunner off the cliff. Up until the point when the coyote realizes he’s in mid-air, he thinks he’s right and everything is OK. Of course he isn’t and the ground beneath his feet had already disappeared. But it’s when he suddenly realizes this — the break in his reality — that life takes a different direction. We are that coyote thinking we see the world as it is until something happens that informs us otherwise. “Oops, it wasn’t the way I thought it was,” we find ourselves saying. We call that a break in our reality, and it can occur as a breakdown or a breakthrough.
It’s a breakdown when we’re banging our head against the wall. Like trying to put something together for the first time. You have a way you think it goes. But if it really goes a different way, it’s a bit of a grind until we succumb to how it really needs to be. Maybe we will suddenly see how it really fits together, usually accompanied by a big “now I get it!” This is the breakthrough.
The reason we love working with leaders — people who are up to big things –is that when they have breakthroughs, the results are enormous. Sometimes it’s an innovative approach that alters an entire business, results in a huge competitive advantage, and yields handsome profits. Invariably that same shift in thinking about the world also translates into your personal life, and we love hearing stories about increased fulfillment, closer relationships, and greater ease in your life. It’s all a part of the process. We like to say you get what you want, and also what you need. Why wait? Take just a few minutes now and get quick relief to the problems that have been keeping you awake!
New perspectives for breakthrough results is not just a tag line, it’s what we believe in and it’s the foundation of our work
